Backup Power + Energy Independence
PowerRack-60 Delivers Reliable Energy Solution for a Community Supermarket in Samoa
Project Background
In Samoa, grid infrastructure remains relatively weak, and some community areas still face unstable power supply. At the same time, due to heavy reliance on fuel-based power generation, electricity prices remain high, placing significant cost pressure on local businesses and daily energy consumption.
For community-based commercial facilities, a stable and affordable energy supply is essential not only for maintaining daily operations but also for ensuring reliable services to surrounding residents.
Therefore, the customer aimed to deploy a more stable and efficient energy solution by integrating solar and energy storage, improving power reliability while reducing electricity costs and enhancing energy independence.

System Configuration
So how did we help address this challenge?
ESSIS provided a customized solar + storage integrated solution, including:
• 108 × 550W PV modules
• 60kWh high-voltage battery system (12 × 5.12kWh)
• 30kW hybrid inverter (Solis)
The system enables coordinated operation between PV generation, energy storage, and load demand. During the day, solar energy is prioritized to power the loads and charge the batteries. At night or during grid instability, the battery system supplies power, ensuring stable and efficient operation under all conditions.

Customer Value
The solution provides reliable 24/7 power supply for the community supermarket, maintaining normal operations even during grid fluctuations or outages and significantly improving power reliability.
At the same time, by increasing solar self-consumption and optimizing energy management, it effectively reduces electricity costs and alleviates the financial pressure caused by high energy prices.
As a scalable and replicable clean energy solution, this project offers a valuable reference for community-based commercial applications in island regions.
